God's names reflect His character, authority, glory and power. Yeshua the Messiah came to earth in the fullness of YHVH (Yod-Hey-Vav-Hey), the ineffable or unutterable name of the God of Israel. Jewish sages say this name expresses God's attribute of mercy. Since ancient Hebrew did not use vowel markings, no one today knows the correct pronunciation. We use Jehovah, Yehovah, Yahweh. The shortened form of YHVH is Yah, found in the word hallelu-YAH, which is Hebrew for "you praise the LORD." Praise doesn't get much better than this live recording of "O Jah" from Paul Wilbur:

Posted by Jeff King at October 11, 2007 08:08 AMIt's good to see you're posting again, Jeff. I was pleasantly surprised to see you'd been back here, and that you'd posted Paul Wilbur's music. I talked about Paul Wilbur on my blog a week or so ago. I have 2 of his cd's, Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem and The Watchman. I have to admit that The Watchman is my favorite though. It is excellent praise and worship music!!
